The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Rt. Hon. Isa Mohammed Ashiru, has inaugurated a Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections, saying the appointments reflect competence and a commitment to deliver people-centred politics.

In a statement released on Monday, Ashiru described the unveiling of the council as a moment where leadership met competence.

He said the team was put together to reflect the seriousness of the task ahead and the need to offer Kaduna residents a credible alternative.

Ashiru named Dr. John Markus Ayuba as Director General of the Campaign Council.

He described Dr. Ayuba as a man of rare intellect with experience in academics, banking, and public service, who has served from the lecture halls of Ahmadu Bello University to the boardroom and the corridors of the Kaduna State Government.

According to Ashiru, Dr. Ayuba has the depth and discipline to steer the campaign.

Hon. Bashir Ibrahim Sakadadi was appointed Deputy Director General for Operations.

Ashiru said Sakadadi is a grassroots mobiliser who understands the language of the streets and the pulse of communities across the state, adding that operations under him will not be theoretical.

Hon. Mukhtar Lawal Baloni was named Secretary of the Council. Ashiru noted that Baloni, a former local government chairman, delivered growth in Internally Generated Revenue, infrastructure, education, and social interventions during his tenure and left office with zero liabilities.

The ADC candidate said the appointments were not about titles, but about building a team focused on delivery, discipline, and service to the people.

He stated that work begins immediately and that Kaduna deserves better governance, which he and his team are prepared to provide.

Ashiru, who holds the traditional title of Sarkin Bai Zazzau, is flying the ADC flag for the 2027 governorship election in Kaduna State.
