Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Islamic scholars from all 44 local government areas of Kano State converged on Kurna, Kano Municipal, on Thursday, where they held prayers and performed animal sacrifices to seek divine favour for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and Senator Barau Jibrin’s governorship ambition.
One of the organisers, Seyi Olorunshaya, explained that the gathering was convened to reinforce spiritual support for both Tinubu and Barau.
He said: “The prayers are aimed at securing divine assistance for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the governorship aspiration of Senator Barau Jibrin.”
Olorunshaya praised Tinubu’s performance in office, adding: “President Tinubu has remained consistent with his campaign promises. He has advanced road projects, brought down food prices, expanded employment opportunities, and enhanced security. He deserves another mandate, and Nigerians will witness even greater progress in his second term.”
Speaking on support for Barau, he continued: “We are rallying behind Senator Barau because of his political strength, which can provide a formidable challenge to the ruling NNPP in 2027. With Barau in Kano North, Minister Yusuf Atta’s influence in Kano Central, and Senator Kawu in Kano South, victory is within reach.”
Sheikh Saminu Khalid Abdullahi, leader of the Ulamas, described the TBA Movement as a platform for mobilising grassroots backing for Tinubu, Barau, and Atta.
“This movement is designed to consolidate goodwill and political support ahead of the 2027 elections,” he said.
