The Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council has slammed the Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, accusing it of presiding over the total collapse of the state’s healthcare system.
In a statement issued Friday by Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, the opposition party cited a recent National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) report that ranks Osun 35th in the country, with 326 primary health centers currently non-operational.
The council contrasted these figures with the 2022 performance under the previous APC administration, where the state held the 6th position nationally with an 87% efficiency rating.
The APC alleged that the current government has failed to maintain the 332 revitalized health centers it inherited, opting instead to surreptitiously repaint old facilities and change commissioning plaques to claim undue credit.
The council raised alarms over the insane cost of medical services, claiming that a Caesarean Section in state hospitals now costs as much as N500,000.
This financial burden is compounded by a massive personnel deficit following the earlier dismissal of over 500 health professionals.
As the August 15 election nears, the APC maintains that the Adeleke administration has replaced tangible development with empty rhetoric, urging citizens to pivot toward their candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, to restore the sector.
