The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, setting out updated guidelines for its internal nomination processes.

The revised schedule, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, outlines adjustments to key stages of the exercise, including the sale of nomination forms, screening of aspirants, appeals, and the conduct of primary elections.

Under the new timetable, the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms commenced on April 25 and is expected to close on May 2, 2026.

Submission of completed forms is scheduled to end on May 4, while screening of aspirants will take place between May 6 and May 9.

The party also provided details of designated bank accounts approved for payments related to the purchase of forms, a move aimed at enhancing transparency and streamlining its nomination process.

Primaries for various elective positions are expected to follow shortly after the screening and appeals stages, with the presidential primary slated for mid-May.

The APC stated that the revised timetable is in line with the framework set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and complies with provisions of the Electoral Act.

The development signals the party’s early preparations for the 2027 elections, as political activities gradually gather momentum across the country.

Analysts say the timetable will shape internal party dynamics and influence the pace of campaigns in the months ahead.
