Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State have endorsed Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during the primary election for the Lagos West Senatorial District, which was held at the Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Secretariat.
Party faithful from various wards gathered at the venue to participate in the exercise.
Adebule, who is the sole aspirant in the election, polled 4,147 votes.
Speaking during the exercise, the Executive Chairman of the Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji, described the process as peaceful and orderly.
She attributed the turnout and calm atmosphere to the groundwork carried out by Senator Adebule.
Rosiji said party members were united in their support for the senator, stressing that there was no visible opposition to her aspiration during the primary.
“We can see the ground today. Senator Adebule has really done so much in terms of mobilization and awareness. The environment is peaceful, and people are ready for the exercise,” she said.
According to her, the large turnout of APC members reflected confidence in the senator’s representation and leadership within the district.
She also commended party supporters for remaining committed to the APC, assuring them that their loyalty and contributions would eventually be rewarded.
Also speaking, the member representing the Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo, praised APC members across the wards for turning out in large numbers to support Adebule’s second-term bid in the Senate.
Olabinjo said the process went smoothly because the primary was largely uncontested, expressing hope that subsequent APC primaries in the state would follow a similar pattern.
“It went smoothly because it is unopposed. This is also what I expect on Wednesday for the House of Assembly primary. If that too can be unopposed, it will make things easier for everyone,” he said.
The Lawmaker further urged party members to remain united and participate actively in upcoming APC primaries in the state.
Monday’s exercise was conducted amid coordination by party officials, with supporters from Ward A to Ward K present at the venue. No incident of violence or disruption was reported during the primary.
