Former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Saturday joined members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Ward 6, Itoku, Abeokuta Central, to participate in the party’s presidential primary election and rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking with journalists shortly after casting his vote, Amosun described the exercise as a significant moment for the ruling party, stressing that party members across the country were united in reaffirming their support for President Tinubu and the APC.

According to him, the exercise aimed to demonstrate solidarity with the President and endorse his continued leadership.

“Today is very special. Today is for the President, and we all must come out to show and demonstrate that we are for the President and for the APC,” Amosun said.

He noted that party stakeholders had already aligned their positions ahead of the exercise, adding that Saturday’s voting was merely a reaffirmation of a collective decision already made by party members nationwide.

The former governor expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the primary, describing the process as orderly and peaceful.

“You can see that everywhere is orderly, and that is how it should be. All of us are speaking with one voice; there is no dissension. Everybody agrees that we want our President to continue his good work,” he added.

When asked about his senatorial ambition, Amosun declined to comment, insisting that the day’s focus was solely on President Tinubu.

“We are for Mr. President today,” he stated.
Also speaking, a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ogun State, Afolabi Moruf Afuape, commended members of Ward 6 for turning out in large numbers for the exercise.

Afuape described the high turnout as a reflection of President Tinubu’s growing acceptance among party faithful and Nigerians.

He also praised Amosun for personally participating in the exercise, calling it a positive development for the party.

“I want to appreciate Senator Ibikunle Amosun for taking part in this exercise. It is a good omen that our President is acceptable to all and sundry,” Afuape said.

He assured that Ward 6 would deliver a massive vote share for President Tinubu during the general election, pledging continued support for the APC and its presidential candidate.
