APC presidential primary records massive turnout in Plateau

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday recorded massive turnout of voters during the presidential primary in Plateau.

The Correspondent of the Newsmen, who monitored the election across some wards in the state, reports that APC members turned out in their numbers to participate in the exercise.

Some of the voting points visited by News correspondent included, Federal Government College and Naraguta-B in Jos North, Dungun in Kanke, Zawan A and B in Jos South Local Government Areas, among others.

Some government officials, party leaders and APC members have promised to support the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu.

Addressing the voters, the Chairman of Jos North LGA, Mr John Christopher, described the exercise as a demonstration of unity and deep democratic participation.

“We are here today to thank our party members in this locality for coming out in mass to vote for the president.

“We are also here today to give a resounding support to our President, Bola Tinubu; we have resolved that we are going to support the president to be our flag bearer come 2027.

“You have been here since morning patiently waiting to be counted and we thank you very much.

“This is democracy at play and we appreciate all of you; we thank you for the support to our president, governor and the National Chairman of our great party,”he said.

On his part, a lawmaker in the state, Mr Adamu, commended party members for the impressive turnout for the primary.

Adamu, representing Jos North-North Constituency of Plateau, further affirmed the commitment of Plateau people towards the re-election bid of the President.

“Tinubu is our presidential candidate and all our votes are for him in this primary.

“We will also deliver our votes for him during the general elections,” Aliyu stated.

Also speaking, a former member of the House of Representatives, Suleiman Kwande, commended APC for the peaceful conduct of the primary in the state.

“I’m satisfied with the conduct of today’s presidential primary in Plateau.

“We thank our governor for providing a conducive atmosphere for the smooth conduct of the exercise.

“As you can see, the exercise is orderly and peaceful across the state.

“Our expectation is that APC will have a landslide victory during the general elections,”kwande said.
