The Federal House of Representatives primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held on Saturday in Port Harcourt, have produced 13 winners who will fly the party’s flags in the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
The successful candidates include Precious Igwe of Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1, Blessing Amadi of Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2, Dumnamene Deekor of Gokana/Khana Federal Constituency, Lynda Stewart of Okrika Federal Constituency, Martins Amaehwule of Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency, Solomon Jack of Asari Toru/Akuku Toru Federal Constituency, and Victor Obuzor of Ahoada East & West Federal Constituency, among others.
A correspondent who monitored the exercise at Orogbum Ward 2-Ogbunabali, in the Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State, reported that Option 4 was deployed for the primary election.
Under this system, over 782 delegates unanimously voted in favor of Blessing Amadi, the aspirant for Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2.
Party bigwigs under the Rainbow Coalition, including Hon. Chima Aguma, were present at the venue and successfully coordinated the entire electoral process at the ward level.
Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also on hand to observe the primary election, as stipulated in the amended 1999 Constitution of Nigeria. Additionally, security agents comprising the Police, NSCDC officers, and the DSS ensured total security at the venue throughout the duration of the poll.
