A cross section of All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful in Ilorin on Thursday expressed confidence in their preferred governorship aspirants securing the party’s ticket for the 2027 general election.

The loyalists were interviewed by the Newsmen in some wards across Ilorin during the ongoing governorship primary election of the party.

Mr Saka Ibrahim, a supporter of Amb. Yahaya Seriki, at Magaji Are Ward 1, described Seriki as a grassroots politician with a strong connection to the people.

According to him, party faithful are optimistic that the aspirant will emerge victorious at the end of the exercise.

Another supporter of Seriki, who preferred to be anonymous, said he was sure of the chances of his aspirant.

According to the supporter, Seriki has remained committed to the growth and development of the party.

“We are fully behind Amb. Yahaya Seriki, because he has always stood by party members through thick and thin.

“We believe he has the capacity, competence and leadership qualities to move Kwara State to greater heights,” said the supporter.

Meanwhile, Alhaja Fatimah Alarape, a supporter of Sen. Saliu Mustapha, said members of her camp had been adequately mobilised across the ward to ensure victory for their aspirant.

“We are here to support Sen. Saliu Mustapha because we believe in his vision and leadership style.

“Our members are united and determined to give him all the necessary support during this primary election,” she said.

Similarly, another loyalist, Alhaji Suleiman Akanbi, said Mustapha had continued to empower party members and youths across the state.

He added that his supporters remained resolute and committed to securing victory for him at the primary election.

Newsmen reports that the exercise was peaceful in most of the wards monitored, with electoral officials arriving early for the accreditation and voting process.
