…as Oyo Assembly Chief Whip denies joining Speaker for meeting with Olubadan, Ajimobi

Former First Lady of Oyo State, Chief Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, has denied allegations linking her to a clandestine plot to orchestrate the impeachment of Governor Seyi Makinde.
In a statement issued by her media office, Mrs. Ajimobi dismissed claims suggesting she provided financial inducements to members of the Oyo State House of Assembly to facilitate such an action.
She characterized the reports as entirely baseless and a deliberate act of disinformation designed to tarnish her public image and incite political instability.
Mrs. Ajimobi further clarified that she has not participated in any meetings whether in Lagos or elsewhere aimed at influencing the legislature against the current administration.
Maintaining that she has no involvement in the internal affairs of the Peoples Democratic Party, she attributed the rumors to mischief and politically motivated propaganda.
Reaffirming her commitment to democratic values and the peace of Oyo State, she urged the public to disregard the unfounded claims, noting that she remains focused on her humanitarian contributions to society.
In the same vein, the Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gbenga Oyekola issued a public disclaimer regarding reports of political meetings involving the Speaker and the Olubadan of Inadan.
Addressing the media after a session at the Governor’s House in Ibadan, Oyekola cautioned against agents of disunity seeking to create friction between the legislative and executive branches.
The lawmaker, representing Atiba State Constituency, specifically addressed claims suggesting that Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin had been approached by the Olubadan of Ibadanland and the former First Lady regarding political realignment.
Oyekola distanced himself from these alleged engagements, stating he was neither consulted nor present.
Reaffirming his absolute loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde and the ruling party, he emphasized his dedication to the stability of the state and called for continued harmony within its political leadership.
