Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of 535 political aides as part of efforts to strengthen his administration and improve engagement with various sectors of the state.
The appointments, announced on Monday in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, include Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) assigned to different areas of responsibility.
Among those appointed is a former Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Ogundeji Iroju, who was named Special Adviser on Legislative Matters.
Iroju, a former principal officer of the legislature, is expected to facilitate and oversee matters relating to the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.
Other appointments include Olaoluwa Adesanya as Senior Special Assistant on Inter-Party Affairs and Seyi Lawrence Aletile as Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment and Tourism.
Adekunle Orisamoluwa was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Support Group Activities, while Favour Semilore Tomomewo will serve as Senior Special Assistant on Public Health.
Temilola Odetola was also appointed Special Assistant on Civil Society Organisations.
The statement said the appointments formed the first batch of the governor’s political appointments.
