The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, AIG Olorundare Moshood Jimoh, has decorated 6 newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), charging them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Zone 2 Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, marked the official elevation of the officers from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to ACP.
Speaking at the event, AIG Jimoh congratulated the officers, describing their promotion as a recognition of merit, consistency, and years of committed service. He commended the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission for sustaining a transparent and performance-driven promotion process, noting that it has boosted morale within the force.
According to him, the new rank comes with increased responsibility, urging the officers to remain focused and committed to effective policing, crime prevention, and the maintenance of public order across Zone 2, which comprises Lagos and Ogun States.
He stressed the importance of strict adherence to professional ethics, warning that expectations from both the public and police leadership are higher at their new level.
AIG Jimoh further assured that the command under his leadership would continue to prioritise merit, discipline, capacity building, and accountability at all levels, in line with the broader objectives of the Nigeria Police Force to enhance security across the country.
The officers decorated include ACP Abel Ademola, ACP Aderonke Bakare, ACP Olusola Knight, ACP Raji Ganiyu, ACP Iliazu Mohammed Lawal, and ACP Samuel Ijachi.
In their remarks, the newly promoted officers expressed gratitude for the honour and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them through improved performance and unwavering commitment to duty.
