AEDC alerts customers on partial outage in parts of Abuja ahead of TCN maintenance

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has alerted electricity consumers of a panned outage in some areas of Abuja on Wednesday.

The distribution company made this known in a statement on Tuesday noting customers of a planned maintenance by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the 33kV NIPP feeder circuit breaker at the Kubwa Transmission Substation in Abuja.

According to the notice, the maintenance, scheduled for 10am to 6pm, will involve the replacement of a failed 33kV NIPP feeder circuit breaker, according to a public notice issued by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) on Tuesday.

The affected areas include Army Resettlement Kubwa, Papal Ground, Aso Garden, Nydren Supermarket, Back of AT4, Back of Mobil, Zenith Bank, FO1, Kubwa Extension, Chikakore Community, Dantata Estate, LITA Farms, Royal Champions Church, Living Faith Church, Dutse Makaranta, Dutse Bokma Extension, Military Pension Board, Jigo Community, Feyi Community, Ushafa, Army College Quarters, Bwari, Sabongari, Law School, GSS Dutse and Customary Court, among others.

The company urged customers in the affected communities to bear with the temporary interruption and provided its customer service line for further enquiries.

The maintenance is aimed at replacing the failed circuit breaker and improving the reliability of the transmission network serving the affected areas.
