Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has urged residents of the state to remain steadfast ahead of the August 15 governorship election, insisting that his administration will not allow a return to what he described as difficult years for civil servants and ordinary citizens.
In a message shared on his social media page, the governor appealed to the people to remain patient for a few more days as the election approaches, expressing confidence that voters would support the continuation of his administration.
Adeleke accused the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) of presiding over a period when workers experienced financial hardship, alleging that salaries were cut and many families struggled to meet basic needs. He maintained that his government had worked to improve the welfare of workers and residents through policies focused on development and social support.
“We will not allow APC to take Osun back to the days when civil servants had to beg their neighbours for food,” the governor said.
He also called on eligible voters to participate peacefully in the election, describing the poll as an opportunity to preserve the state’s development agenda and strengthen democratic governance.
The governor urged residents to protect their votes and ensure that the outcome of the election reflects the will of the people, while encouraging them to remain united throughout the electoral process.
“On August 15, I urge every eligible voter to send a clear and resounding message that Osun has chosen the path of progress, compassion, and good governance,” Adeleke stated.
He expressed optimism that the election would further consolidate the gains recorded under his administration and reaffirm the people’s commitment to continued progress in Osun State.
