The Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation has called on the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to respect the will of the people and wait until 2030 to seek office again.
In a statement issued over the weekend, the campaign group reacted to the upcoming August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State by alleging that certain opposition leaders are plotting to disrupt the peace of the state.
The organization claimed it had uncovered leaked threats from top APC leaders suggesting a plan to incite post-election chaos should Governor Ademola Adeleke secure a second term. According to the group, these internal conversations indicate that the opposition is already anticipating a significant defeat at the polls.
The campaign group further alleged that the opposition’s internal assessments show Governor Adeleke leading by a margin of over 200,000 votes, a situation they claim has led to desperation within the rival camp.
The statement strongly criticized the opposition caucus for allegedly contemplating the manipulation of electoral officials or the announcement of fake results. The Adeleke Campaign Organisation emphasized that a level playing field will be strictly enforced and that the integrity of the electoral process will be maintained.
They warned that any attempt to undermine the sanctity of the vote or create instability after the election would be met with a mass revolt from the electorate who are determined to protect their democratic choices.
In its concluding remarks, the campaign organization charged the people of Osun State to organize themselves across voting units, wards, and local governments to defend their rights. The group urged citizens to remain vigilant and ready to protect the democratic dividends and good governance established under the current administration.
They maintained that the people of Osun will not only turn out to vote but will also ensure that the final results accurately reflect the ballots cast on election day.
