ADC expands elective offices ahead of state congresses

‎The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced an expansion of elective positions for its forthcoming state congresses, expanding the list of elective positions to accommodate more candidates.

‎In a public notice addendum signed by the National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party introduced additional state-level roles.

‎According to the notice, 10 additional categories of offices have been created, allowing more party members to contest for strategic roles within the state structure. The newly introduced positions include State Coordinator for Electoral Matters and INEC Liaison, as well as several assistant roles such as Assistant State Secretary, Assistant State Publicity Secretary, Assistant State Organising Secretary, Assistant State Financial Secretary, Assistant State Treasurer, Assistant State Woman Leader, and Assistant State Youth Leader.

‎The ADC also confirmed that each state will have 10 delegates and 2 additional delegates for the national convention.

‎The party said the positions are open to interested members, with a submission deadline of March 27, 2026, and subject to its 50 per cent inclusion policy for women and youth.

‎Prospective aspirants have been advised to obtain and process nomination forms through their respective state secretariats or the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja.
