But guess what? Nigeria is actually assembling some pretty solid car brands right here on our own soil, Yes made in Nigeria (well, at least assembled )

If you thought sleek rides and powerful engines only came from far-off lands, think again. The Nigerian automotive industry is revving up, proving that we have the skill, the drive, and the ambition to assemble top-quality vehicles right here at home.

Here Are 5 Car Brands Proudly Assembled in Naija:

  1. Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM)

Let’s start with the OG, Innoson is Nigeria’s first indigenous car manufacturer, and their vehicles are fully assembled in Anambra State. From sleek sedans to rugged buses and SUVs, IVM is slowly changing the game. Their motto? “Pride of African Roads.”

  1. Peugeot (PAN Nigeria) Peugeot is not new to Nigeria. Their assembly plant in Kaduna has been active since the 70s. Models like the 301 and 508 are still being assembled here. Peugeot cars are known for their durability, and a lot of government fleets use them.
  2. Hyundai

Yes, Hyundai, The popular South Korean brand has been assembling vehicles in Nigeria through a plant located in Lagos. Their models like the Hyundai Accent and Elantra are known for fuel efficiency and smooth drive.

Honda also has an assembly line in Nigeria, where some of their cars and even motorcycles are locally assembled. These are built to suit Nigerian roads and are quite affordable in terms of maintenance.

In partnership with Stallion Group, Nissan vehicles like the Nissan Almera and Patrol are assembled in Lagos. They’ve even promised to increase local production which is a good sign for our auto industry.
