The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has expressed profound concern and condemnation following the tragic discovery of the body of a three-year-old girl, Harira Yakubu Bala, in a bush near her home in Sabon Gari, Kiyawa Local Government Area.

The child was reported missing by her parents on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, around 11:00 hours. Distressing information reached the Kiyawa Divisional Office a day later, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, around the same time, confirming that her lifeless body had been located in a nearby bush, bearing multiple injuries.

NSCDC personnel from the Kiyawa Divisional Office, supervised by SC Shamsuddeen Amin, swiftly mobilized to the scene. They secured the area and evacuated the body to a hospital for a comprehensive medical examination and formal investigation.

The subsequent medical examination tragically confirmed that the deceased child had been raped, molested, and murdered by yet-to-be-identified assailants. The Jigawa NSCDC Command has unequivocally described this act as inhuman, ungodly, and highly condemnable.

State Commandant CC Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa has issued a direct order to the Intelligence and Investigation Department. They are instructed to work closely with the Kiyawa Divisional Office and partner with other security agencies to ensure the perpetrators of this heinous crime are swiftly arrested and brought to justice.

Following the necessary procedures, the remains of the deceased have been released to her family for burial in line with Islamic rites.

The Command also reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, with a specific focus on the safety of children and all vulnerable members of society.

The NSCDC urged residents to remain calm, to be vigilant, and to promptly report any suspicious movements, activities, or persons to the nearest security formation to aid the ongoing investigation.
