Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has officially accepted his appointment as the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.

In a comprehensive statement released on Saturday, Yari expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the executive leadership of the governing party for placing their confidence in him to helm the party’s national campaign operations.

The appointment forms part of a broader campaign council structure unveiled by the party leadership, which features President Tinubu as Chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as Vice Chairmen, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma serving as Campaign Secretary.

Formally accepting the mantle, the Zamfara West lawmaker pledged to approach the assignment with utmost dedication and institutional discipline.

“I accept this responsibility with deep gratitude and full seriousness. My sincere thanks go to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party for the trust placed in me, and to our party leadership for the confidence. I do not take it lightly,” Yari said.

Highlighting the strategic vision of the campaign organization, Yari emphasized that the campaign process would transcend routine electioneering to engage citizens meaningfully across cultural, religious, and geographic divides.

“A campaign is more than an election; it is a conversation with the Nigerian people in every state, every language, every faith about the future we are building together,” he noted.

Pledging that the campaign structure will operate with orderliness, unity, and mutual respect, Yari announced that operational activities begin immediately to mobilize supporters across all geopolitical zones.

He urged Nigerians across various political persuasions to choose national development over political division, asserting that the party will earn the trust of the electorate through its track record of performance rather than mere political rhetoric.

“By the grace of God, and with the effort of us all, we will deliver victory in January 2027,” Yari concluded.
