Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has described the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as one of his subjects, insisting that the Minister has no choice but to work with him as governor of the state.
Aiyedatiwa stated this while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he also dismissed concerns over the strength of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ondo State.
The governor said Tunji-Ojo, who is also a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), must work with him in his capacity as governor and leader of the party in the state.
He added that the APC remained the dominant political platform in Ondo State, stressing his commitment to the progressive ideology of the party.
“He (Tunji-Ojo) is a member of my party. He is a minister, and we are all APC. He has no choice than to work with me. I am the governor. He is one of my subjects.”
“I am an APC governor. Everything politics in Ondo State must be APC. I am a progressive,” he said.
On the perceived threat posed by the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections, Aiyedatiwa questioned the party’s numerical strength and political control in the state.
“Politics is a game of numbers. If you are saying ADC is a threat in Ondo State, what is the number? What did they control?” he asked.
