The Tinubu Progressive Advocates (TPA) has commenced plans for a nationwide mobilisation campaign in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The group is set to formally unveil its national leadership structure and advocacy programmes on Wednesday, September 30, at the National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The group disclosed this on Monday in Lagos during an International World Press Conference organised by the group.
The TPA said its campaign would focus on taking information about the Tinubu administration’s policies and programmes to Nigerians at the grassroots, while encouraging participation in the 2027 electoral process.
The programme is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m. at the National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, under the theme, “Inspiring Greatness.”
According to the organisers, the TPA is being positioned as a grassroots and advocacy platform through which members and supporters will promote the Tinubu administration and mobilise public support for his bid to secure another term in office in 2027.
According to the TPA’s Director, Media and Communications, Mazi Sidney Nwachukwu, the group advocacy would focus on communicating what it describes as the administration’s development agenda, policies and programmes, while encouraging Nigerians to participate actively in the democratic process during the 2027 election.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is listed as the Special Guest of Honour at the event.
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, is expected to attend as Guest of Honour, while the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address.
Yilwatda currently heads the APC National Working Committee, while Kalu is the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Also expected at the occasion is Hon. James Faleke, listed as Chairman of the Occasion. Faleke is currently Deputy Director-General in charge of Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring in the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 presidential election.
The organisers also listed the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, as National Leader of the TPA, while Amb. Lion Moses Ebahor, the National Coordinator of the organisation, is expected to serve as Chief Host.
The organisers said the Abuja gathering would go beyond the formal unveiling of the TPA, as it would also provide an opportunity to present its national leadership structure, explain its programmes and outline its advocacy strategy ahead of the 2027 election.
The group is expected to use the occasion to rally its members, political stakeholders, supporters and other Nigerians around its stated objective of supporting Tinubu’s re-election.
The development comes as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections. In August, the Presidency announced the composition of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, with President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima serving as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively, while Yilwatda was named one of the council’s key leaders and Faleke assigned responsibility for election planning, coordination and monitoring.
The APC has also continued preparations for the 2027 elections. Its National Chairman, Yilwatda, said recently that the party had reviewed its structures from the national level down to polling units as part of preparations for the elections.
Against this backdrop, the TPA said its Abuja inauguration would mark the beginning of a broader advocacy and mobilisation campaign aimed at taking its message to Nigerians across the country.
The organisers also disclosed that the unveiling of customised footballs would form part of the activities at the ceremony.
Moreso, political stakeholders, executive members of the organisation, supporters and other distinquished guests are highly expected to grace the programme.
