In a decisive move to curb rising political tensions in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, has issued a firm directive to his supporters to immediately cease all media hostilities against rival gubernatorial aspirants.
Known popularly as Yayi, the Senator representing Ogun West expressed deep concern over a surge in detestable statements and social media attacks directed at other members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who have signaled interest in the 2027 governorship race.
In a personally signed statement released on Monday, Adeola clarified that he has neither authorized nor encouraged any form of retaliatory campaign against his political colleagues.
He emphasized that demeaning or ridiculing fellow party members is entirely contrary to his character and political philosophy.
The Senator noted that while he is aware of the unprovoked attacks leveled against his own person and career, he has chosen a path of silence and service rather than engaging in unproductive internal bickering.
Adeola urged his teeming loyalists and well-wishers to remember that they are all part of a single political family.
He stressed that the pursuit of a rancour-free process is essential for the health of the APC as the party moves toward primary elections.
According to the lawmaker, the focus of his supporters should not be on tearing others down but on showcasing the tangible progress achieved under his legislative tenure, as well as the executive milestones of Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
While acknowledging the genuine passion of those who have envisioned a specific goal for Ogun State for over a decade, the Senator insisted that his current priority remains delivering on his mandate to the people of Ogun West and Nigeria.
He called for maximum restraint and caution in the coming days, urging party members to keep their eyes on the ball and prioritize the continuity of ongoing reforms over individual ambitions.
