The women wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have vowed to mobilise no fewer than one million women votes for President Bola Tinubu and Dr Obafemi Hamzat in 2027.
The party woman leader in the state, Mrs Iyabosola Eletu, gave the assurance in an interview with newsmen in Lagos on Friday.
She said that the party’s mobilisation efforts were already yielding results across the state
“As a woman leader, I have consulted and engaged fellow women leaders across board to ensure that the mandate of APC candidates is delivered at the grassroots.
“I have visited more than five riverine communities in the Ojo/Badagry axis to canvass support for Tinubu and Hamzat, and will extend the mobilisation to other riverine areas of the state.
“We are not limiting our mobilisation to the urban areas; we will continue to reach the riverine communities and every part of Lagos to seek support for our candidates,”Eletu said.
The woman leader said that Tinubu’s achievements in various sectors were enough to convince voters to support his continued administration and the APC in the 2027 elections.
She said Tinubu had made impact through entrepreneurship grants and students loans through NELFUND for students, support for farmers, infrastructure, human capacity development, among others.
“The Tinubu-led administration has recorded achievements that should be communicated to the people, which also include financial autonomy to local governments, increased federal allocations to states, and salary adjustments for civil servants.
“The administration is also putting efforts to address outstanding debts in the education and power sectors as some of its interventions.
“These are issues that directly affect Nigerians, and we will continue to explain the impact of these policies to the people at the grassroots,”she said.
The APC woman leader said that the Lagos state deputy governor was not new to governance, adding his experience would be valuable in the administration of the state.
“Hamzat understands the workings of Lagos because he has served the state at different levels, he knows the challenges and opportunities, and that experience gives him an advantage,”she said.
She added that Hamzat would consolidate the achievements of successive administrations and ensure that ongoing projects were completed, rather than abandoned.
“Continuity is key. He will not abandon the ongoing projects; instead, he will complete them and initiate more projects that will further advance the development of Lagos,”Eletu said.
She urged party members, particularly women and grassroots leaders, to intensify mobilisation and ensure that the party secured victory at the presidential, governorship and other levels in 2027.
“We have started early, and our target is achievable if all members remain united, committed and focused.
“We are determined to deliver victory for Tinubu, Hamzat and other APC candidates and we will deliver with a landslide victory in Lagos State and Nigeria at large,”she said.
