The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone, on Wednesday, says the people of the zone will vote for trustworthy candidates that will work for them.
The APC Zonal Chairman, Dr Ernest Nwaze, said this in an interview with news men at Uburu, Ohaoozara Local Governent Area (LGA) of the state.
Nwaze said that the electorate can now discern credible candidates from those seeking power without demonstrable capacity to deliver.
“I commend the party in the state for the emergence of Osborne Umahi as the party’s Chairmanship Candidate for Ohaozara LGA in the Aug. 22, 2026 council polls.
“The son of the Minister of Works, Sen. David Umahi, possesses the needed capacity as his choice reflects our commitment to field candidates with the pedigree and competence.
“We are presenting candidates who would consolidate the development agenda of Gov. Francis Nwifuru and not those with unrealisable tales,” he said.
According to him, the overwhelming acceptance of the APC candidates across the council indicates that the electorate has confidence in the party and its leadership.
“Ebonyi South will not back those who gamble with our future as people will differentiate between genuine leadership and desperation to be noticed during election periods.
“We urge party supporters and residents of the zone to remain united as the APC has demonstrated sufficient capacity through its programmes and policies,” he said.
Nwaze thanked Gov. Nwifuru for his purposeful and people-oriented leadership, saying that it has strengthened the party’s political structure across the state.
“I also applaud the Minister of Works for his contributions towards national development, especially through infrastructure.
“Party faithful should mobilise voters for its candidates as a united electoral mandate will consolidate its developmental programmes at the grassroots.
“There is no electoral prospect for opposition parties in Ebonyi South, because we have established formidable political structures across the district,” Nwaze said.
