Women under the umbrella of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) have pledged to mobilize votes for the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial cabdidate, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The women made the pledge during a strategic visit by the Lagos State First Lady and COWLSO Chairperson, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, alongside committee members to the PBAT-KOH 2027 Lagos State Campaign Council office in GRA, Ikeja.
Addressing the gathering, the Lagos State Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, challenged COWLSO members to spearhead an expansive mobilization campaign to ensure massive voter turnout.
He revealed that the party is targeting a decisive 50 percent of all registered voters across the state to guarantee victory and continuity for the administration.
“You must come out in your large numbers to vote for our candidates. If we say we are standing on a mandate, we must be able to come out to vote and show that we are really standing on that mandate,” Hamzat urged, calling on the women to engage their families, neighbors, and associates.
The Lagos First Lady, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu rallied the women to deliver unprecedented numbers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the state’s APC candidates, emphasizing that women hold the key to electoral success at the polling units.
“We need to prove to our President that we are not just delivering one million votes, we are going to do more. Let us focus and ensure PBAT comes back to power,” she stated.
Echoing the call for grassroots reach, the Director-General of the PBAT-KOH 2027 Campaign Council, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, drew attention to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) statistics showing that youth aged 18 to 35 comprise nearly 65 percent of the voting population.
He charged the women to leverage their maternal influence to connect with and engage young voters.
The event also featured solidarity messages from APC Deputy Governorship Candidate Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, and former Lagos State University Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Bello.
They all commended COWLSO for its unwavering loyalty and urged members to deploy a multiplication strategy reaching into homes, markets, and workplaces to propagate the federal and state governments’ achievements in infrastructure, education, and the economy.
