A prominent governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Engr. Femi Sanni, popularly known as Araba, has declared that the ruling party remains firmly in control of the state asserting that its victory in the upcoming 2027 general elections is virtually guaranteed.

Speaking during a consultative meeting with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the Bishop’s Court, located at the Anglican Diocese of Kwara in Ilorin over the weekend, Araba dismissed widespread suggestions that the party’s ongoing internal disagreements have weakened its electoral prospects.

According to him, the massive crowds that have turned out for separate rallies organized by different APC camps across the state are actual proof of the party’s immense popularity, rather than evidence of terminal division.

He noted that when the attendance numbers from all the various factional rallies are combined, it becomes obvious that the APC’s collective support base remains overwhelming.

He expressed absolute confidence that once all outstanding internal friction is resolved, the party’s momentum will be impossible to stop.

The governorship hopeful urged his fellow aspirants and party leaders to actively avoid actions capable of deepening existing cracks within the party, emphasizing that he has full confidence in the comprehensive reconciliation efforts currently being spearheaded by the party’s national leadership.

He maintained that there is no logical reason for the party to approach the general election as a divided family, advising stakeholders to remain patient with both the President and the National Working Committee, which he described as the true spirit of progressive politics.

Araba stressed that the primary purpose of his visit to the CAN leadership was to seek spiritual intercession and prayers for Kwara State, the APC, and Nigeria as a whole.

He highlighted that religious leaders bear a crucial, divine responsibility to promote peace, unity, and socio-political stability during transition eras.

He further added that despite the months of intense internal wrangling surrounding the build-up to the governorship primaries, the party will ultimately emerge stronger and more united because of the experience.

The Kwara State chapter of the APC has witnessed a surge in intense political activities in recent months.

Several governorship hopefuls and powerful support groups have been holding parallel consultations and high-energy rallies across the state, even as the party’s official reconciliation committee works tirelessly behind the scenes to heal divisions ahead of the 2027 polls.
