2027: ADC dismisses Nafiu Bala Gombe’s alleged candidate upload as social media propaganda

The leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has moved swiftly to expose what it describes as a calculated attempt to manufacture confusion around the party’s 2027 nominations.

In a reaction on Monday to claims that a faction led by Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe successfully uploaded its presidential and National Assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, the ADC stated that such claims collapse under the simplest scrutiny.

The party argued that the electoral umpire does not issue nomination portal access codes to a leadership it does not officially recognise, nor does it hand two rival groups separate access codes to submit candidates for the same political party.

According to the recognized national leadership, that safeguard exists precisely to prevent impostors from uploading names and declaring themselves authentic party leaders.

“So the question remains: where is the verifiable evidence of this alleged submission?” the party questioned.

The ADC pointed out that instead of presenting an official INEC acknowledgement, portal receipt, or direct confirmation from the Commission, Nigerians are being shown a suspicious document circulating on social media.

To address the infraction, the organization stated that it has formally alerted INEC to what appears to be a case of forgery and the unauthorised use of materials presented as documents from the electoral body.

Warning against the broader implications of the development, the party added, “This is not merely an internal party disagreement. It is an attack on electoral credibility. Fabricated documents can mislead supporters, create tension and damage public confidence in both the party system and INEC.”

The recognized leadership of the ADC maintained that anyone claiming to have submitted candidates must produce concrete evidence that can be independently authenticated by INEC.

“The ADC will not be distracted by photocopied propaganda, manufactured authority or political mischief.”

“Its national coalition remains focused on building a credible platform, strengthening its structures and presenting Nigerians with a serious alternative in 2027,” the statement noted.

Reaffirming its position on institutional legality, the group declared, “The law recognises institutions, not noise. INEC recognises authorised leadership, not social-media declarations. And no suspicious document can replace legitimacy.”

The party urged all ADC supporters across the country to remain calm, reject ongoing misinformation, and rely strictly on official communication channels from the party and INEC.
