Two security guards were on Friday docked in an Abuja Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged negligent conduct.
The police charge, Chika Oyia,37, and Moses Yage,36, employees of Sensitive Professional Security Company Ltd, Jabi, Abuja with negligence.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, Festus Ajayi, told the court that, the complainant, Simon Atakwu, reported the matter at the Maitama Police station on behalf of Chinyere Diagnostic Seevices Ltd, Abuja.
Ajayi informed the court that, on June 11, the defendants allegedly neglected their duty post and some people gained access to the building and destroyed an AEDC Transformer Armoured cable worth N2 million.
Magistrate Faridah Ibrahim admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500,000, each with one surety each in like sum.
Ibrahim ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must provide means of identification.
She adjourned the case until, July 14 for trial.
