The Kano State Police Command has arrested 193 suspects and recovered weapons as well as illicit drugs during coordinated statewide raids on criminal hideouts across the state.
The operations, carried out in strategic locations, were part of ongoing efforts by the Command to strengthen internal security, dismantle criminal networks, and curb rising incidents of violent crime and drug-related offences.
According to reports, the raids led to the arrest of suspects linked to various offences, while dangerous weapons and substances suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered from different hideouts.
The Command stated that the exercise reflects its continued commitment to proactive policing and intelligence-driven operations aimed at ensuring safety and restoring public confidence.
It added that the crackdown will be sustained across identified black spots within the state, with a warning that criminal elements would have no safe haven in Kano.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant, support security agencies with credible information, and report suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police formation.
The Nigeria Police Force also reiterated its commitment to ensuring peace and security nationwide through continuous operations targeting criminal elements.
Investigations are ongoing, while the suspects are expected to be profiled and charged to court upon conclusion of preliminary inquiries.
