11 Plc Managing Director, Adetunji Oyebanji retires after 45 years of service

The Board of Directors of 11 Plc, formerly known as Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc, has announced that the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Adetunji Oyebanji, will officially retire on March 31, 2026. 

This announcement, detailed in a notice to the investing public, marks the conclusion of a distinguished career spanning over 45 years of dedicated service to the organization. 

Mr. Oyebanji’s journey with the company began in 1980, when he joined the then Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc as a Marketing Representative Trainee. Over the ensuing decades, he ascended through various leadership positions, including roles as Pricing Manager, District Manager, and Executive Director of Fuels. He was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc in October 2008. Following the divestment of ExxonMobil and the company’s subsequent transition to 11 Plc, he assumed the role of Managing Director/CEO in April 2017, where he steered the firm through a significant period of transformation and growth.

Beyond his domestic achievements, Mr. Oyebanji held several high-level international positions during his illustrious career. His professional journey included stints as a Project Associate at Mobil Oil Corporation’s headquarters in Virginia, USA, as well as executive roles at Mobil subsidiaries in Cameroon and Ethiopia. He eventually transitioned into a global leadership role based in Belgium, where he managed industrial and wholesale fuels for the Africa and Middle East regions.

Within Nigeria, his influence extended into several major economic and professional bodies. He currently serves as the President and Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria and is a former Chairman of the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria. 

In an official statement, the Board of Directors expressed profound gratitude for Mr. Oyebanji’s unwavering commitment and strategic vision. 

The Board noted that it remains grateful for his legacy, which will continue to inspire future generations, and concluded by wishing him a healthy and happy retirement after nearly half a century of meritorious service to the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
