Amangwu annual festival to hold Dec. 29 – Chairman

The 2022 edition of the Amangwu annual festival hosted by Arochukwu community in Abia is scheduled for Dec. 29.
The event, according to a statement on Monday in Abuja by Amb. Chibuzo Okereke, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, is titled, “Youthful and Useful: A United Family for Development and Progress”.
According to Okereke, Amangwu is prominent in the Arochukwu kingdom and the people are known for hard work, resilience, patriotism, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
“All is now set for the successful celebration of the 2022 Amangwu-Arochukwu Day/Festival which will hold on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Amangwu Civic Hall Grounds, Amangwu, Arochukwu in Abia at time 9 a.m.
“The Amangwu day is socio-cultural, economic and development festival that brings people and friends of Amangwu both at home and abroad together to celebrate Amangwu’s rich cultural heritage.
“It inspire stakeholders’ actions towards resource mobilisation for development, discussion of veritable ways and means to deepen the socio-economic, infrastructural and political development trajectory of the people.
“In response to this lofty mandate of advancing Amangwu’s sociology-economic, infrastructure and cultural development, the Amangwu Development Union, Amangwu Youth Association and Nzuko Nde Iyom Amangwu will jointly commemorate the Amangwu Day,” he said.
According to him, the people are known for peace-building, productivity and change agents who believe in the force of oneness, brotherliness and togetherness.
The people, he said, are also united in purpose for the development and progress of the land, the state and the entire country.
The chairman said the objective was to bring people of Amangwu, friends and all stakeholders together and give opportunities for contributions towards the development of the community.
He said the festival offered opportunity to share progress report on the activities of the relevant leadership and development organisations in the community.
Okereke said the festival would featured discussions on Amangwu youth empowerment and commissioning of the newly completed Amangwu roundabout as well as ground breaking of the Amangwu health center project, fundraising, among others.
“The event which will be under the chairmanship of Mazi Emmanuel Ivi, will showcase cultural harmony, spirit of love, oneness and togetherness of Amangwu people”.
