The chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has flagged off work for the provision of infrastructure in a section of Sabon-Lugbe.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Public Private Partnership (PPP), project in Sabon-Lugbe on Tuesday, the council chairman reeled out the benefits of the partnership for the good of the people.

“As a government of the people, sensitive to the fulfillment of its mandate, it behoves on us the responsibility of meeting the needs and aspirations of all electorates within our jurisdiction. To enable residents partake of the dividends of democracy and feel the impact of good governance in and around the room domains, providing access to basic infrastructure cannot be seen as luxury but a necessity to make life easy for the people. It would also in turn motivate residents in carrying out their civic responsibilities in the governance system,” Candido said.

Candido added that his commitment to the people has made him to execute many projects across the Council area. He said he has dedicated a major chunk of the Council’s yearly budget to infrastructure provision for the good of residents. He said as it is practiced globally, his administration has partnered with private sector to bring dividends of democracy to the people of his area council.

According to him, his administration was recording huge success because it decided to involve new ways of doing things differently from past AMAC administrations.

“AMAC partnership with the private sector in the PPP arrangement for the constructing of access road along Voice Nigeria/Trade More Estate road from the end of Ecological project road to the end of AMAC layout with drainage and solar panel light is our quest to further expand our coverage to the nooks and crannies of the Council as this project would cover this zone of Lugbe District.”
