Alimosho gears up for Kulturefest Community Arts, Culture Fiesta on Nov. 18

The Alimosho Arts Community Initiative has announced the highly anticipated Kulturefest event, set to take place on November 18th, 2023, at the Open Ground by Araromi Bus Stop in the Alimosho area of Lagos State.

Organised by Chief Obani Boyede, aka Greenlyte, this community fiesta of arts, culture, and talent promises to be a rich expression of African culture, theatre and arts.

According to Boyede, “Kulturefest is a celebration of the rich tapestry of human expression through various art forms, including dance, drama, music, and more. It serves as a platform where top-notch skills, crafts, and the fruits of academic theater training converge.

“This remarkable festival is the culmination of efforts by the Alimosho Arts Community Initiative, in collaboration with Green Kreative Stars Academy, University of Kulture, Lagos State University (LASU), and other esteemed institutions.”

The convener noted, “At the heart of KULTUREFEST lies the passionate Alimosho Art Community Initiatives, dedicated to nurturing creativity, empowering individuals, and fostering a vibrant community. Centered on theater, education, and entrepreneurship, this initiative provides academic theater training, skill acquisition, and entrepreneurship programs. Additionally, community members are equipped with practical skills through the entrepreneurship initiative, receiving training and essential equipment to start and sustain their businesses.”

He added, “Kulturefest will showcase a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, cultural exhibitions, fashion shows, poetry readings, pageants, live music performances, traditional dances, drumming, storytelling, drama, masquerade displays, and thought-provoking discussions. With the theme of ‘ONE LANGUAGE,’ this festival aims to foster unity and cultural exchange among attendees.

“Alimosho Art Community Initiatives is committed to youth empowerment, education, cultural enrichment, sustainable vocational and cultural entrepreneurship, year-round engagement, cultural showcases, and fostering peace and unity.”

Chief Boyede, the Chief Artistic Director/CEO of Theatre Centrik, Alimosho Arts Community Initiative, Green Kreative Stars Academy, and University of Kulture, stated that the mission of the Alimosho Art Community Initiatives is “to inspire, educate, and empower individuals of all ages within our community.

“Through comprehensive theatre, educational, and entrepreneurship programs, we aim to unlock potential, enhance skills, and encourage innovation. Our vision is to transform Alimosho into a thriving hub of creativity, education, and entrepreneurship, creating a haven for lifelong learning and artistic excellence.”
