Alia donates rice, cows to Federal Girls’ College, Gboko

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has donated 50 bags of rice and 8 cows to Federal Government Girls’ College, Gboko to cushion the hardship faced in feeding the students of the college.
Alia made the donation Saturday when he paid unofficial visit to the school while heading to Vandeikya for an official function.
He appreciated the school management and the students for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage, described all the students as his beautiful daughters who are future leaders.
The Governor, also appreciated the neatness and physical outlook of the students, thanked the school management for taken proper care of them, added that with that excellent feeding, the students will give a hundred percent concentration to their studies.
Governor Alia, who is the Frontline advocate of girl child education, advised the students to make their parents proud by remains committed to their studies with the hope of passing out in flying colours during their final examinations.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Principal of the school, Barr. Mrs.Idoreyin Omaselem Ejohuo said it was a remarkable day in the history of the College, as the school was receiving the Governor of the state for the first time since inception.
She appreciated the Governor for visiting their school and promised to continue to do their best with a view to ensuring that they remain one of the best girls’ college in North Central Nigeria.
In her vote of thanks, the Modesty House Captain and student of SS 3 C, Anthonia Tukuna extended the gratitude of the students to Governor and his entourage and prayed to God to continue to give him the wisdom and strength he needs to give efficient leadership to the state.
