Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has dissolved all Boards of Parastatals and their Chief Executive Officers with immediate effect.
Following the dissolution , the Chief Executive Officers are directed to hand over all Government properties in their possession to the most senior officer.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Tersoo Kula, who made the disclosure, said the decision to that effect was reached during an emergency stakeholders meeting held at Government House Makurdi, which was presided over by the Governor.
He further disclosed that briefs were received from key Officers from Finance and Security, adding that even though a full State Executive Council is yet to be constituted, five key positions including Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service and Chief of Staff have been made and appointees will be sworn in on Thursday.
The names of the appointees include Professor Joseph Alakali, Secretary to the State Government; Moses Agbogbo Ode, Head of Service; Mr. Paul Biam, Chief of Staff; Dr. Emmanuel Chenge, Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, and Mr Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary.
According to Kula, the Governor will proclaim the 10th Benue State House of Assembly on June 5, 2023.
