Alakenne confers chieftaincy title on Dr Ranti Sofowora-Oladeinde for uncommon healthcare community services

There was wide jubilation at lkenne – Remo community in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State following the conferment of chieftaincy title on Dr Ranti Sofowora-Oladeinde as Iya-Abiye of Ikenne land, for her healthcare community development services by HRH Oba Adeyinka Onakade, Moruwafu 1, Alakenne of Ikenne – Remo and Traditional Rulers’ Council.

Dr Ranti Sofowora-Oladeinde, whose work experience spanned from Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital to Ikenne Local Government as the Supervisor for health and then to the State Ministry of health, was the Supervisor for health in Ikenne Local Government from 1999 to 2002.

The ceremony took place at the Palace of Alakenne of Ikenne on the 25th of May, 2022 also marked the eleventh anniversary of monarch on the throne.

She has been providing healthcare services for the citizenry of Ikenne since 1992, thirty years ago from her father’s private clinic Ereke Clinic in Ikenne. Her post graduate experience include a master’s degree in public health, a master’s degree in public administration, a postgraduate diploma in hospital management, (Unilag), and a Certificate in Healthcare Administration from Technion School of Technology, Haifa, Israel. She is a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College, Nigeria and a Fellow of the Certified Board of Administrators (CBAN).

Her medical career in the Ministry of health made her served in various capacities as the Director State Agency for the control of HIV/Aids, Director Hospital Services and the Director Department of Planning, Research and Statistics, and due to her assiduity and God’s benevolence, she was appointed as a Permanent Secretary in April 2019. She served in this capacity in the Ministry of Women Affiars and Social Development and was then posted to the Government House where she retired from Ogun State civil service after attaining the mandatory age of 60 years on 5th of September, 2021.

Speaking shortly before the conferment, the HRH, Adeyinka Onakade, said that God created man in His likeness to continue good works on earth.

The monarch also said, “Dr Ranti Sofowora-Oladeinde, has manifested God’s likeness in her by working hard to make our community better through her healthcare initiatives. By this chieftaincy conferment on her by Ikenne community, she has written her name on the marble as a champion of health in our community.

“Let her be an example to Ikenne sons and daughters who are equally successful in their respective endeavours to think-home and bring development to our community. God always rewards people who bless others by their positions in the society and Dr Ranti Sofowora-Oladeinde would not be an exception.

“Because she has blessed Ikenne community with her primary healthcare services,we are clothing her with our magnificent traditional regalia as we equally confer on her, the traditional title of ‘Iya-Abiye of Ikenne,” the monarch said.

In her message of goodwill, Dr Ranti Sofowora-Oladeinde, said the chieftaincy title will encourage her to do more for the community. It was a thing of joy to be honoured by his community and the traditional title will motivate her to do more good work for her people.

“I am very happy to be made a chief by my people because of my healthcare delivery services to my community. What distinguishes this title from others is that the whole community unanimously decided to confer it on me.”

The community also conferred chieftaincy titles on Chief Mrs. Bola Kinoshi as Yeye Oge of Ikenne land and Otunba Adedoyin Adesina as Aare Asoludero of Ikenne land, for their various community development initiatives during the ceremony.
