By Akintunde Jacobs, Akure

Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has said unauthorised expansion of territory by any traditional will not be tolerated.

Akeredolu gave the warning on Thursday at the presentation of staff of office to the newly installed Iralepo of Isinkan, Olugbenga Ojo, in Akure.

Recall that the stool of Iralepo became vacant on February 4, 2021 following the demise of Oba Joseph Olu Ojo.

The Governor, who was represented by his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, implored the newly installed Oba to accommodate everyone and assume the role of a father to improve the socio economic prospects of Isinkan.

Akeredolu assured of his administration’s continued resolve to maintain dignified neutrality in the process of selecting ‘Obas’ ,saying,” it is absolutely the responsibility of the people.”

The Governor enjoined all royal fathers not to relent in their support for the various levels of government in the country, most especially on the security issue which has become a menace to Nigeria.

The selection process to fill the vacant stool of Iralepo started on October 11, 2021 when the state government acceded to the request of Isinkan Community through Akure South Local Government for approval to commence the process of appointing and installing a new Oba.

“I encourage you to accommodate everyone in your community, bearing in mind that the responsibility to lead Isinkan to its next level of socio-economic development has been placed on your shoulders.

“Let me also advise the Kabiyesi to restrict your governance to your domain only. Any idea to extend your territory to other areas outside your domain will not be tolerated. May God help you to succeed in this onerous task.

“In the same vein, I implore the people of Isinkan to ensure that Kablyes’s reign is remarkably peaceful and successful. His success depends greatly on the degree of loyalty, co-operation and support given to him by the people of Isinkan,” he said.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Akinwumi Sowore and Chairman Akure South Local Government, Gbenga Olaniyi, urge the people of Isinkan to support the monarch for its progress.

Responding, the newly installed Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Olugbenga Ojo, thanked Governor Akeredolu for his magnanimity, stressing that he would work to develop Isinkan for excellence.

Ojo appealed to all the people of his community to continue to Unite and offer their unflinching support and loyalty to the land.

“This is the time our prayers, support consideration, assistance, encouragement, companionship and cooperation are needed more than ever,” he said.
