The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has charged Christians to emulate the sacrificial life of Jesus Christ who laid down his life for the salvation of mankind.

Akeredolu in his Easter message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde said love and sacrifice are key to overcoming the myriad of challenges facing the state and the nation, even as he rekindled the hope of a better Nigeria.

Akeredolu advised citizens to always remember leaders in their daily supplications to God especially for divine wisdom to addressing the present problems including the ones posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, “this time demands more love, sacrifice, prayers and a renewed hope for a better nation. We must be ready to join hands to build a prosperous nation through love and sacrifice and live the values of discipline, perseverance and obedience which Jesus Christ demonstrated during His stay on earth.”

The governor tasked people of Ondo state and other Nigerians to be moderate in their celebration with emphasis on the need to strictly follow COVID-19 protocols especially the use of face mask to further halt the spread of the virus.

He also challenged Nigerians to take COVID-19 vaccination seriously, urging them to disregard misinformation and disinformation about the vaccines.
