The Ondo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Ade Adetimehin, has described Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the Generalissimo of the Southwest for leading the region in securing life and properties of the people of Western Nigeria and the rest of the country through Amotekun security outfits.
He said the Governor justified his position as the leader of the Southwest Governors Forum through this action.
Adetimehin spoke at Irele Local Government Headquarters, Ode-Irele when he visited party members, leaders, and local government executives at Ode-Irele
He was accompanied on the tour by the, newly, inaugurated State Executive Committee members, as part of the first leg of the statewide visits of the State Exco to all the eighteen LGAs in the state.
Adetimehin who urged all party members to remain committed and prepared to continue to work for the interest of the party in the state and the country said, “This is the time, this is the moment to build afresh and unite the party the more.”
He said, “On the recent national convention, all APC members in the state are winners because our primary interest is to strengthen and unite the party.”
The Chairman saluted the foresight and the vision of the leadership of the party for evolving a strong political platform as a vehicle to strengthen democracy, and give the citizens hope for a better tomorrow.
His words, “As the foremost political party in the state, the APC should continue to lead by example with an utmost sense of responsibility to set the pace in the march to consolidate and stabilise our leadership in the state.
“I urge all our members to remain united and place the party’s interest above personal ambition as we ply our way towards the coming elections.”
The APC Chairman of Irele LG, Zachariah Akindele Omoge, in his welcome address, expressed happiness for the visit of the State Chairman and the State Executive Committee.
He said the visit has afforded members of the LG to have a good interface with the state team, stressing that the visit was timely and would provide ample opportunities for the people to speak their minds to their leaders in the state to warranted contentious issues.
