A’Ibom govt distributes instructional materials to technical colleges
The Akwa Ibom Government on Tuesday distributed instructional materials to all the nine Technical Colleges in the state.
The Chairman of the State Technical Schools Board, Mr Godwin Udom, who distributed the materials, urged the benefitting colleges to make effective use of them.
Udom said that the textbooks and other materials donated to the colleges were geared towards transforming the state technical education system, for efficiency and high academic performances.
He commended Gov. Udom Emmanuel, for giving approval for the distribution of the instructional materials.
“We are glad that our promise keeping governor has once again demonstrated his desire to transform technical colleges into world class citadels of learning, by providing these materials for our students.
“These materials will enhance learning and academic performance of our students.
“The governor is passionate about making technical education becomes attractive and sort after, in the state,” Udom said.
Udom charged principals of the Colleges to be accountable in managing the materials for effective and maximum productivity.
“As gatekeepers and moulders of the future of our children, I want to urge you all to take care of these items and ensure that they are effectively utilised,” he said.
Responding on behalf of the principals, Mr Friday Udoka, the Principal of Government Technical College, Abak, thanked the board for always responding positively to the demands of the colleges.
Udoka commended the governor for always showing concern in technical education in the state.
It was reported that items distributed included textbooks, chemicals, resistors, glass blocks, glass prism, optical pins, among others.
