A’Ibom gov vows to combat criminality

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his commitment to combating criminal activities in the state.

According to a statement on Saturday, Eno made the promise during the swearing-in of six new High Court judges in the state.

The governor also commended the Akwa Ibom State Chief Judge, Justice Ekaette Obot, for fostering collaboration among the arms of government, which he said was vital for effective governance.

He emphasised that his administration was determined to ensure the rule of law was upheld and that Akwa Ibom remained a safe and secure environment for its people.

Eno said, “We will continue to make Akwa Ibom uncomfortable for criminals and their enablers. Our people deserve to live and do business in peace.”

While congratulating the new judges appointed by the Nigerian Judicial Council, the governor described the appointments as a recognition of their professional competence and dedication to the judiciary.

“I commend you for your exemplary career, and I have no doubt that you will continue to contribute to the advancement of justice in our state,” he added.

He further expressed gratitude to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and other members of the NJC for their support in recommending the new judges.
