Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney has responded to forward, Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest interview with Piers Morgan.
In an interview with Morgan, Ronaldo criticized Rooney, Manchester United, manager, Erik ten Hag, former team-mates Gary Neville and others.
On Rooney, Ronaldo claimed the former England international was jealous of him, “probably because he finished his career and I am still playing at a high level.”
Reacting to the development, Rooney said age has finally caught up with Ronaldo, insisting that the Portugal captain is finding it hard to accept it.
Rooney told CNN (via United Zone): “He is a fantastic player. Him and Messi are probably the two best players to play the game. It’s not criticism, what I have said is age comes to all of us, Cristiano is finding it hard to deal with that.
“He has done an interview and it has gone global, Bit strange some of the comments, but I am sure Manchester United will deal with it once they see the full interview and take whatever action they need to take.”
