Again, NBTE scores MAPOLY high, approves 100% accreditation of programmes

Following the quality assurance visitation by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has been granted approval for all the programmes presented for accreditation and re-accreditation.

This was contained in a statement made available to Nigerian NewsDirect by Head, Public Relations & Protocol, Yemi Ajibola.

The NBTE Board examined 23 programmes for accreditation and nine new programmes for resource inspection from 14th to 17th December, 2022.

According to the statement,  “In the exercise, all the 23 programmes were accredited while only eight out of the nine new programmes were approved with effect from 2022/2023 academic session.

“The programmes for the National Diploma include; Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Banking and Finance, Urban and Regional Planning, Tourism Management Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology and Statistics.

“Others for Higher National Diploma programme are; Building Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Urban and Regional Planning, Architectural Technology, Statistics, Science Laboratory Technology (Biology/Microbiology Option) and Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry Option).”

Meanwhile, National Diploma Arts and Industrial Design, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Architectural Technology, Hospitality Management and Higher National Diploma Civil Engineering Technology were granted interim accreditation.

However, it was gathered that all programmes run by Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta are fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education.

The exercise was the first visit of the regulatory body since the revalidation of the Institution on the express approval of Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun in 2020.

While commending staff members for their cooperation and diligence, the Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji promised to uphold distinctive principles for the development of the Polytechnic and national growth.
