Again, Airtel wins ‘Partnership of the Year Award’ at SERAS 2024

Airtel Nigeria has once again been recognised for its unwavering commitment to sustainable development, securing the Partnership of the Year award at the 18th edition of the Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility Awards (SERAS) held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, 14th December 2024.

The award highlights Airtel’s ongoing success with its Re-imagine Education Initiative, a transformative collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) aimed at revolutionising education in Nigeria through technology. Airtel’s steadfast focus on creating social value through strategic partnerships reinforces its position as a vital enabler of progress within the Nigerian education sector.

Commenting on the award, Femi Adeniran, Director of Corporate Communications and CSR at Airtel, emphasised the importance of winning the Partnership of the Year award for the second consecutive time, reflecting the success of the collaboration with UNICEF. The initiative has provided digital access to quality educational resources for over 1,200 schools across Nigeria.

“Winning this award for the second year in a row is a testament to our enduring belief in the transformative power of technology in education. We remain deeply committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of Nigerians, and this recognition only strengthens our resolve to do even more,” Adeniran said.

The SERAS Awards, widely recognised as Africa’s most prestigious platform for celebrating sustainability and corporate social responsibility, gathered leaders from various industries to honour organisations driving impactful change.

Airtel Nigeria continues to lead in its mission to promote inclusive growth, empower communities, and champion a sustainable future for its stakeholders and the environment. The company is a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services and a subsidiary of Airtel Africa Plc, with a presence in 14 countries across Africa, primarily in East, Central, and West Africa.
