African Games 2023: Danjuma thumbs up Falconets’ victory over Senegal

Falconets head coach, Chris Danjuma was a delighted figure after his side sealed a place in the semi-finals of the women’s football event at the African Games 2023.

Danjuma’s side thrashed Senegal 4-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Monday night to seal a place in the last four.

Loveth Edeh set the ball rolling with the opening goal on 13 minutes.

There were further goals from Motunrayo Ezekiel, Aisha Kales (own goal) and Chioma Olise to make the scoreline more emphatic.

Danjuma emphasized the team’s relentless pursuit of excellence despite their second victory in the competition.

“Our mentality coming into this game was to improve on the Morocco game by three times. We needed to keep going till it was beyond their reach,” he told CAFonline.

The Falconets will face the second-place team in Group A in the semi-finals.
