AFCON: Ivorian Govt shuts schools, markets, banks for Nigeria clash

 

The Cote d’Ivoire Government ordered the closure of schools, markets and banks on Thursday (today) ahead of the national team’s clash against Nigeria.

The move is to ensure massive support for the Elephants against the Super Eagles.

Newsmen  can report that tension is already building up in Abidjan ahead of the game.

The Alassanne Quattara Stadium, venue of the match, is expected to be filled to the brim for the game.

The encounter will kick-off at 5:00 pm local time (6pm) in Nigeria.

The Super Eagles held Equatorial Guinea to a 1-1 draw in their first game.

The hosts started their campaign on a winning note, defeating Guinea-Bissau 2-0.
