AFCON 2021: Victor Osimhen sends message to Nigeria ahead of Egypt clash

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has wished his teammates all the best of luck as they begin their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, campaign with a clash against Egypt on Tuesday night.

Osimhen is not in Cameroon, but he is sending his support from Naples ahead of Nigeria’s opener against the Pharaohs at the Roumde Adija stadium.

The Napoli star would have been in the lineup when Augustine Eguavoen’s side three-time tackle Egypt, but he had to withdraw from the squad after failing to recover from a facial injury.

His absence is a massive blow for Nigeria, but the 23-year-old has immense trust in his teammates and wishes them good luck against Mohamed Salah led-Egypt.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle, Osimhen wrote on Twitter: GoodLuck To The Super Eagles, As They Begin Their AFCON Campaign Tomorrow Against Egypt.”

Osimhen is not the only big name missing from Nigeria’s squad at the 2021 AFCON.

Nigeria will also be without the likes of Odion Ighalo, Emmanuel Dennis and Leon Balogun.
