Aerial display: Nigerian Air Force urges Enugu residents not to panic

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has urged Enugu residents and its neighbouring communities not to panic as they see aerial airplane displays.

The colourful and peaceful aerial airplane display with fireworks is part of the ongoing NAF 59th Anniversary Celebration ongoing in Enugu.

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Enugu by Air Commodore Chukwuedo Illoh, the Chairman, Organising Committee for NAF 59th Anniversary Celebration, tagged: “Enugu 2023”.

Illoh urged residents not to panic or fear seeing an aerial airplane display with fireworks on Friday, May 5; as the exercise would be performed at the highest safety standards.

He said that the aerial display would be done within the evening hours of between 6.30pm and 7.00pm.

“As part of activities marking the 59th Anniversary Celebration of the Nigerian Air Force in Enugu, on Friday 5 May 2023, there will be an aerial display by the Global Star Aerobatics Team from 6:30pm to 7pm.

“During the aerial display, aircrafts will deploy some fireworks as a mark of the celebration.

“The Nigerian Air Force wishes to inform the general public, particularly those residing in Enugu, that the aerial display is a normal ceremonial exercise and nothing to fear.

“Members of the public are therefore urged to go about their routine daily activities,” the chairman said.
