AEDC reinterates commitment to quality of service

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), has reinterated commitment to ensuring quality of service for its customers.

The DisCo made this disclosure in a statement made available to NewsDirect by AEDC’s General Manager Corporate Communications, Mr Fadipe Oyebode today, 12th November.

He noted that the statement is coming as a fallout from a consultantive meeting with electricity consumers.

Accordingly he stated that “Some customers in Mararaba area came to our office today during which time they showed  concern about their power supply. We had extensive conversation with them and the following agreements were reached: Increase power supply from 6-8hrs; The community to come up with the list of unmettered customers for metering to address the issue of estimated billing; xxThe community/association to work with AEDC to remove customers who are feeding from  additional sources as this is a source of danger to the network, community and workers; Principal officers of mararaba area office to be added to in their WhatsApp group to improve communication”.

Mr Oyebode, however noted that “The area affected ought to be fed from a 2 x 60MVA transmission st but what we have is a 1 x 60MVA, which is a source of limitation from the source.

“Along side the above is that we also have limitation from the TCN side”, he said.
