The adjectives used by Pastor Tunde Bakare on the constitution which is a binding document that it should be jettisoned are not proper for a man of his stature, former Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Kaduna chapter, Barr. Sule Shuaibu has said.

Speaking on the matter and other sundry issues affecting the co- existence of Nigeria especially the constitution, Barr. Shuaibu said the National Assembly is already working seriously on the matter.

The erudite lawyer said, “The constitution is not perfect only God is perfect. If the constitution has ‘lacuna,’ it can be amended” he said.

“The adjectives he used are not proper. If we throw away the constitution what regulates us in the interim?” he asked.

He said that the reason why there are agitations in the country can be attributed to some issues being raised but that we can have peace as it is the bedrock of development.

On the issues of Kaduna Metropolitan Authority recently created by the governor of Kaduna State Mal. Nasir El-Rufai, the former NBA Chairman said that there might be a conflict of interest with the local government chairman who were just elected recently.

He said that, “The constitution is supreme and any law made not in tandem with it is deemed null and void.”

He said, “That any constitutional matter should go through the right channel and the one presently recognized is the one that recognize the three tiers of government. He however praised the security measures adopted by the state government which is already bearing fruits.

He added that the urban renewal project of the state government has shown that it is focus but it should be given a human face so that people will have more confidence on the government.
